hi folks. I made a little EP called “Summering” for my upcoming Australian tour. it’s up on Bombshellzine.com here: http://www.bombshellzine.com/blog/2014/02/new-ep-from-max-stern-ahead-of-aussie-tour/
download it here: http://maxwellstern.bandcamp.com/. it’s FREE, but donations are very appreciated because as it turns out, getting to Australia is slightly expensive.
John Hanna recorded it and Joanne Ong did the artwork. I’m lucky to have such talented friends.
i fly out on Monday and have never been more excited for a tour. thanks for listening!
just found this video of molly lape (formally of two hand fools) and i playing a very early version of “january and seven”. april 2011, i think? i needed a haircut, that’s for sure.

Hi Europe / UK. How’s September looking for you?
interested in hosting us? email Glenn at firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject “Signals Midwest”.
see you soon! xo
Between booking/playing a few shows on their debut US tour in 2012 and traveling along on their most recent tour supporting Frank Turner, I’ve gotten to know the Smith Street crew pretty damn well and I am very honored to have been invited over to support Wil at these shows. I was also fortunate enough to spend some time with Dave of Pinch Hitter in February and March of 2013 and could not be more excited to share this experience with such good friends.
I’ll be playing Signals Midwest songs, Meridian songs, new songs, covers - basically anything is fair game. If you plan on coming to a show and want to hear something, just let me know: signalsmidwest at gmail dot com. Also, THIS song will probably happen a lot.
After this tour ends, I have a few more solo shows supporting The Smith Street Band before I fly home. More on that soon.
You can get updated info about all the shows via the nice folks at Poison City Records. See you in February, Australia!
We’re home from tour safe and sound (except Loren, who decided to hop a flight to Virginia for some reason). This was a very cold, very enjoyable run of shows. Thank you to everyone who came out to a show, hosted us, fed us, booked us, played with us - we’re incredibly grateful. Special thanks to Timeshares who we sort of not-so accidentally toured with for a few days. Good vibes all around.
We’re laying low for a bit and writing some new songs, but one exciting announcement that we do have is that we are playing Brite Winter 2014 on Feb. 15th in Cleveland with some amazing bands like BARS OF GOLD and Little Big League! The entire festival takes place in the Ohio City neighborhood of Cleveland and is completely FREE.
There’s some other exciting stuff on the horizon that will surface soon but for now I’m gonna down this cup of hot chocolate and spend my Saturday watching Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace.
